Lucy is small blue, high yielding, semi-leafless pea which can be drilled from late October through to April. The flower type is white. The breeder of Lucy is G.A.E. in France with Harlow Agricultural Merchants being their Agent. In NIAB trials Lucy yielded 104% with Froidure yielding 75%. In ARC trials Lucy yielded 123% with Froidure yielding 70%. A November drilled Cambridgeshire crop yielded just under 2 tonnes per acre with an April drilled Essex crop yielding 2.2 tonnes per acre (Froidure drilled on an adjacent part of this field yielded 1.5 tonnes per acre).

The straw length of Lucy is 84cms and scores 7/8 for standing ability (Rated on a scale of 9 being good 1 being poor).

Lucy scores 7/8 for standing ability and was the best standing alternative pea over two years of NIAB trials. Lucy is a slightly larger pea than Froidure with and average thousand grain weight of 182gms.
